16th Australian Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Conference – Melbourne 27-29 August 2012

As announced in the web site the 16th Australian Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry Conference will be held in Melbourne from 27-29 August 2012, in conjunction with the 22nd Congress of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing that will be held from 25 August to 1 September 2012. Registration at the ARSPC will enable attendance at all ISPRS sessions and vice versa, so there will be no additional cost in attending the ARSPC sessions. The ARSPC sessions will include two plenaries, four technical oral sessions and (electronic) poster sessions during the 3 days. These sessions will be all in parallel with the oral and poster sessions of the ISPRS Congress.

The RSP Commission committee along with the ISPRS Congress committee are busy organising the 16 ARSPC. To date, over 140 papers have been submitted from Australians to the ISPRS Congress and 16th ARSPC, with many submitted for the dedicated 16 ARSPC sessions. For those of you, who have missed the ISPRS Congress paper submission deadline, we have extended 16 ARSPC abstract submissions until 27 February 2012. Abstracts (not exceeding more than 300 words as an attached file) need to be submitted to e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Papers for the ARSPC will be assessed and produced in a separate DVD.  Reviewing of ISPRS abstracts is currently underway and authors of papers for 16th ARSPC who have submitted abstracts by the original submission date of 24 October 2011 will be notified of acceptance of their papers by 12 December 2011.  Authors who submit their abstracts by 27 February 2012 will be notified of acceptance by 26 March 2012.  Deadline for full papers is 16 April 2012.

Full details of the ISPRS Congress and registration can be found on the Congress web site

Attending the 16 ARSPC provides our members and the wider spatial community with a unique opportunity to participate in a large international conference for the cost of one registration. We encourage our members to register early with early bird registration closing on 24 February 2012.  The RS&P Commission will be offering student scholarships to attend, so students are encouraged to submit abstracts. Further information on these scholarships will be available in coming months. We hope to see a large Australian contingent attending this event.
