Message from Christchurch
On Tuesday 6th December approximately 30 spatial professional's from across Canterbury gathered at Pomeroy's pub in Christchurch to celebrate the end of a very long year. Thanks to Intergraph and Eagle for supporting the evening and for their continued support during the year.
This was the fourth event held in Christchurch and feedback suggests that local professionals have found the events to be very beneficial, providing great networking opportunities and improving business relationships.
We are planning a range of events for Christchurch next year including a Women In Spatial breakfast, Young Professional targeted events, a trivia night, some formal presentations and definitely another drinks session at Pomeroy's which is always a popular venue. Dates will be advised in early February. If you have any suggestions for events, would like to help organise any or even sponsor one please get in contact with myself at [email protected]
It has been a massive year for the spatial industry! I have seen it mature in front of my eyes as much in the last 12 months as would normally occur over years and years. There have been leaps and bounds in sharing data, working collaboratively and using new technologies. I feel very privileged to have been able to contribute my small part in this and leverage at least some benefit from the tragic events we have experienced. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank every individual and company from across New Zealand and internationally that have contributed to the earthquake response and recovery effort and congratulate them on a job well done. I hope that we can all maintain our enthusiasm and continue to work together to continually improve our services and our industry. I wish everyone a very peaceful summer break and a shake free 2012!
