Opportunity for Subsidised Geospatial Training - Round 2
To all in the Surveying and Geospatial industry and employers of surveying and geospatial technicians:
The opportunity Queensland has gained approximately $5 million in Federal funding under the Critical Skills Investment Fund (CSIF) for the upskilling of existing technicians to Certificate III or Certificate IV in Surveying or Spatial Information Services and the training of new workers with these qualifications. Under the CSIF, employers with less than 100 employees only pay 10% of the training cost (i.e. $600 per employee being trained). For firms with employees 100-199, the employer contribution is 30% of the training costs (i.e. $1800 per employee) and for firms greater than 200 the firm pays 50% (i.e. $3000 per employee).
2nd Round of Places Now Available
A first round of places is currently being funded. Additional places are likely to be available. You are invited to indicate your interest by Close of Business, Tuesday 25 October 2011 (firms who previously responded need not reapply).
