Queensland Spatial Excellence Awards (QSEA)

The Queensland Region recently celebrated its 6^th QSEA at the Victoria Park Golf Club.� 160 guests celebrated ‘under the stars’ – not outdoors, but under glittering table arrangements of stars – and enjoyed the announcements of the QSEA winners for 2011. An impressive list of special guests attended, including the Queensland Chief Scientist, the Queensland Information Commissioner, a board member from the Queensland Reconstruction Board, and the President of the International Map Trade.

Representatives from the Clem Jones Group of Companies presented the inaugural Clem Jones Medal to the winner of the Student Award.� For a full list of award winners, please visit the QSEA page at www.sssi.org.au/qld.

Queensland Surveying and Spatial Conference (QSSC) 2012

Queensland Region has commenced planning for the 5^th biennial conference in September. It’s a great project to be involved in, so if you’d like help out on the Conference Committee, we’d welcome your contribution.� Meetings are by teleconference, so it doesn’t matter where you live, you can still be involved!
