Our annual conference - WASSIC 2011 - was upgraded this year at a new venue, with the addition of a mining and engineering surveying stream, with attendance from AIMS members, and a sponsor exhibition area. Our new look conference was held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex, and with the help of a professional conference organizer Conference Images, was an outstanding success. We are most grateful for the support of our generous sponsors: Gold - ESRI, Haefeli-Lysnar, Position Partners, CR Kennedy; Bronze - Cardno Spectrum Surveys, Gemcom, Digital Mapping Solutions, OmniSTAR; Affiliate - Land Surveys.
We were fortunate to have an excellent list of keynote speakers and session speakers, with Kelvin Brown from reflex Instruments captivating the audience with his account of the Chilean Mine Rescue, Don Abbey with his excellent expose on SP1, Ron Gibson with his enlightening approach to networking, and Dr Felicity Morel-Ednie Brown with her Mapping of Colonial Northbridge and her Historical GIS of Perth. We are very grateful to all speakers who made this event the best ever in all respects as confirmed by delegate feedback.
Delegates enjoyed the generous interaction time with sponsors and colleagues in the sponsor area during morning and afternoon tea and lunch breaks.
