Hydrography CPD

For all certified Level 1 and 2 Surveyors, CPD for the 2010/2011 Financial Year is due.� As the online database is currently unavailable, members will be required to manually fill out the CPD form.

The completed form will need to be emailled to the Hydrography Commission National Committee by the 31st of July.

Offshore Construction Certification DVD

The DVD has now been uploaded on YouTube for Members and the Public to view.� The Video has been split into two parts.

Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources & Security (ANCORS)

We would like to inform members of the short courses run by the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources & Security (ANCORS).� These courses are ideal for attaining CPD points and would also be helpful for any individuals looking to apply for certification through the AHSCP.

Recent Events

World Hydrography Day - Adelaide

The second annual World Hydrography Day Event was held in Adelaide on Monday the 20th June at the Mawson Lakes Hotel.� The event was well attended, with 28 people from Australia and New Zealand.� The event was once again sponsored by CARIS Asia Pacific and held in conjunction with an open HIPS/SIPS course.� Daniel Kruimel from CARIS Asia Pacific (also a member Hydrography Commission National Committee -HCNC) chaired the evening.� Presentations included:

A viewing of the certification DVD for the Offshore Construction Sector
Christian Fellinger (CARIS Account Manager - Asia Pacific) with an update on CARIS products such as HIPS and SIPS 7.1, Bathy DataBASE 3.2 and Spatial Fusion Enterprise 5.4
Andrew Ternes from the Port of Melbourne on some of the recent survey work in Victoria
Richard Cullen (member of the HCNC and AHSCP) talking to members on CPD
Nigel Townsend (member of HCNC and Survey and Operations Manager for Fugro LADS) on some of Fugro LADS recent projects and the new LADS Mk3 system

The event was worth 2 core Hydrography CPD points.
