The Bicentennial Education Foundation was established in 1988. It was conceived by the Queensland Division of the Institution of Surveyors Australia, in response to a call from the then ISA Federal Council for Divisions to initiate projects that addressed the historic and future aspects of the profession as it's contribution to the nation's bicentenary celebrations. As a profession typified by advanced and specialised knowledge, surveyors embraced the concept of a Trust to not only provide postgradute opportunities to qualified graduates, but also continue the exploration of frontiers of the broader spatial sciences for the future of the industry.
