SSSI is an Institute that delivers excellence to its members on a local, national and international level.
Through the SSSI, the Remote Sensing & Photogrammetry Commission is an Ordinary Member of the Asian Association on Remote Sensing (AARS) Society. The RS&P Chair or delegate attends the annual AARS Society meeting which is held in conjunction with the Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (ACRS), which began in 1980. Through the SSSI, the Remote Sensing & Photogrammetry Commission is an Ordinary Member of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). Details on the ISPRS (organisation, history, objectives and activities) can be viewed here. The RS&P Chair and two advisors attend the ISPRS General Assembly, held every four years in conjunction with the ISPRS Congress. In 2012, the RS&P Commission is hosting the 22nd Congress in Melbourne.
