SSSI is an Institute that delivers excellence to its members on a local, national and international level.
Home / E & MS Commission / History
The first Engineering and Mining Surveying Commission was formed when a number of organizations decided to come together to represent the surveying and spatial science profession and SSI was born. The objective of the new Commission was to be the home for members who were involved or interested in the fields of engineering surveying and mining surveying. This objective carries on till this day. The initial membership base would come from engineering and mining surveyors in WA and Qld.
When SSI merged with ISA to form the new SSSI, the Engineering and Mining Surveying Commission would become a new Commission of SSSI.
