In recognising the great diversity of interests within the spatial community and within the Institute, SSSI actively encourages the involvement of its members and spatial professionals through various initiatives.
SSSI’s Women in Spatial group actively recognises the value and contribution of women in the spatial professions and within the Institute.
The SSSI Heritage Special Interest Group role includes the research and commemoration of spatial professionals in Australia's history.
The SSSI Education Program is a vital initiative in securing the future of the spatial profession through the youth of Australia. The Education Program includes various initiatives that seek to achieve the mission of increasing the profile and awareness, and ultimately the progression of the spatial sciences.
